hello!

My family’s roots lay in the American South—in Kentucky and Tennessee—but I grew up playing in the cornfields of middle Ohio. Raised somewhat isolated, my imagination was in constant use. I often invented friends in the form of animals or tiny people, crafting worlds for them to inhabit.

I feel fortunate to utilize the strengths I developed as a child in my work and find as much joy in them today as I did then.

For the past three decades, beautiful Northern California has been my home. I live near the state’s capitol, Sacramento, with my husband and our two dogs—Morty and Otis. Although my parents and sister live in other states, I’m lucky to enjoy spending time with my grown children, Kelsey and Quinn, every week.
